Back with our Meet the COG series, up next is Andy Swaisgood!
Andy has recently joined the COG in a new position as the Customer Care Coordinator. He’s currently spending his time in only 2 COG counties where he’s putting his previous experience in the field to work in a wide variety of ways.
What were you doing before working for the COG? Prior to working with the COG, I worked for 16 years at residential provider as a DSP, Home Supervisor, Behavior Support Specialist and Life Enrichment and Outreach Coordinator.
What do you remember most about your first job? It was actually a good fit for me. Working the sporting goods section at Meijer in High School. I love sports and I like things to be organized and go “where they belong” so walking up and down the aisles organizing fishing lures and baseball gloves was kind of fun for me.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Definitely Pizza.
If you had unlimited money to start your own business, what would it be? A former co-worker of mine often talked about this idea and I always thought it was a cool idea. A fishing charter boat for individuals with DD/ID. A handicapped accessible boat with all the adaptive equipment necessary for men and women with physical disabilities to fish the open waters.
Who would play you in the movie of your life? The late Chris Farley. We both have a love for comedy, food, and living life to the fullest every day.
