Transforming Lives Together
At the Clearwater Council of Governments, we are committed to working together with our partners to enhance people’s lives one system, one community and one person at a time.
Our vision is to have a system and culture that values and responds to the voices of all people.
By collaborating with county boards of developmental disabilities and other agencies, we are able to offer services and opportunities that empower individuals and families to have a say in their services and within the DD system.

What is Self-Advocacy?
The COG partners with the Ohio Self Determination Association (OSDA) to increase leadership skills in self-advocacy.Â
All COG member counties continue to have well established self-advocacy groups. The groups meet regularly and continue to develop their leadership and advocacy skills.Â
In addition, all counties have OSDA Project STIR graduates. The COG assists on a regular basis with state-wide Project STIR trainings and initiatives.
