Mass Training: Managing Difficult Conversations

In partnership with Elevate People Solutions, CEO and founder Sheila Eason will facilitate this valuable training.  The Managing Difficult Conversations workshop is interactive and engaging that will give participants actionable strategies and techniques that will make it easier and less stressful to handle difficult conversations.  The training focuses on building the skills necessary for approaching any difficult conversation with confidence while managing emotions and maintaining the integrity of the relationship. Participants will learn how to prepare to for a difficult conversation.  They will practice applying a difficult conversations framework by participating in a variety of role play scenarios.

Learning Objectives

By the conclusion of the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Describe what makes a conversation difficult and identify when and where to initiate one.
  • Prepare for and conduct a difficult conversation.
  • Plan a conversation using “I” statements.
  • Manage their reactive emotions during difficult conversations.
  • Through role play participants learn how to tackle a variety of challenging and difficult conversations.

Book recommendation: It is suggested though not required that participants obtain a copy of How to Tell Anyone Anything: Breakthrough Techniques for Handling Difficult Conversations at Work by Richard S. Gallagher to supplement the training.  The book can be purchased on the discount site
