Next up in our Meet the COG series is Claudia Fetter!
Claudia is one of our registered nurses and completes Quality Assurance Medication Audits for the COG. She was interviewed by Patti Clements.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
My children. I love them, they bring me great joy. They are the most caring and genuine adults. It feels great knowing I contributed to that. My second great joy are my grandchildren. They are exceptional young adults and teenagers. I seek them out and spend as much time with them as I can. I am intrigued by their successes.
You came out of retirement to join the COG, what did you do in your first career?
Can you believe I ran a surgery department?!?! I managed everything that went into the surgery area- doctors, nurses, scheduling, the entire thing. It was busy and fast paced and I loved it!
Why did you join the COG?
Nancy and I worked together on the school Board. I was telling her about a job I was doing at ta local doctor’s office and how I needed to leave, that job started as part-time and they were wanting me to go full-time. Nancy said, hey we have this awesome nurse and she needs some help. When I met Stacy, I knew we were lost sisters. I love working with Stacy and I love the work we are doing together.
What else do you enjoy in your retirement?
TRAVELING!!!!!!!!!! Although I started traveling long before I retired! I talk passionately about traveling being very descriptive of trips to Australia (I would love to go back), Hawaii, France, Switzerland (the most beautiful place I have been), Amsterdam and Venice! I have a knack for inadvertently wondering into red light districts which makes for fascinating stories about my travels!
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I sang in a Big Band group at the Palace Theater in Marion, Ohio. It was exhilarating and I loved every minute of it!
